Baseball Game Preview: Grand Prairie Gophers vs. South Grand Prairie Warriors

For the second straight game, Grand Prairie will face off against South Grand Prairie. The Gophers will head out to take on the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Grand Prairie has given up an average of 7.9 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Grand Prairie's offense. They came up short against South Grand Prairie on Tuesday, falling 11-0. The loss continues a trend for the Gophers in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost five in a row.

For South Grand Prairie's part, Daylon Brooks and Isaac Rios did most of the damage at the plate: Brooks went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Rios scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. Those three RBI gave Brooks a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Angel Arpero, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Grand Prairie's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for South Grand Prairie, they moved to 11-6-2 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
