Pine Crest had won three straight games and Guillermo Ariza did his part to make it four on Thursday. Everything went the Panthers' way against the Deerfield Beach Bucks as they made off with a 3-0 victory thanks in part to Ariza, who had 13 digs and two aces. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last four times he's played.

Pine Crest never let Deerfield Beach on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-18, 26-24.

Pine Crest's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. As for Deerfield Beach, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.

Pine Crest will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Cardinal Gibbons at 4:30 p.m. on the 22nd. This will be the Panthers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Deerfield Beach, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Highlands Christian on the 14th.
