Pinellas Park is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They skirted past Hollins 12-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Patriots have posted against the Royals since April 20, 2021.
Madison Wagner made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 17 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run.

In other batting news, Danielle Overman and Rylee Westwood did most of the damage at the plate: Overman went 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs, while Westwood went 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three runs gave Westwood a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Auhbree Northrup, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Pinellas Park kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Northeast entered their tilt with Manatee on Wednesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Hurricanes. That's two games straight that the Vikings have won by exactly ten runs.
Lashell Roberts was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Giannah Martin, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Pinellas Park now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Northeast, their record is now 10-6.
Pinellas Park might still be hurting after the 12-5 loss they got from Northeast in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Patriots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
