Baseball Recap: Saturday's Defeat Ends Portola's Winning Streak

Portola lost against Beckman back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Portola fell 5-1 to Beckman. The Bulldogs' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Portola saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Yoshi Tsuge, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base. Tsuge is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Portola's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Beckman, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Looking ahead, Portola will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against St. Margaret's at 3:30 p.m. Portola is facing St. Margaret's at the right time seeing as St. Margaret's is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Beckman, they will head out to square off against El Toro at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. El Toro's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Beckman's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
