Recap: Castaic Coyotes vs. West Ranch Wildcats
The Castaic Coyotes lost against the West Ranch Wildcats back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Castaic was dealt a 56-28 loss at the hands of West Ranch. Castaic was down 56-21 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Several Coyotes players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tyler Lewis, who rushed for 73 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 109 yards and a touchdown. Monty Coleman was another key contributor, rushing for 75 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
Luke DePerno had an outrageously good game for West Ranch as he rushed for 189 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.5 yards per carry.
West Ranch's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Leading the way was Dakoda Darby and his 2.5 sacks.
Castaic's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for West Ranch, their win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-3.
Castaic will be staying on the road on October 27th to face off against Hart at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. West Ranch does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
