Basketball Recap: Pana Takes a Loss

After flying high against Southwestern last Thursday, Pana came back down to earth. The Pana Panthers were outmatched by the Taylorville Tornadoes and fell 75-24. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 388th, while the Tornadoes are ranked 103rd).

Pana's defeat was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 8-18. As for Taylorville, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. We've got a battle between Panthers coming up. As for Taylorville, they will face off against Mt. Zion at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Taylorville has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 198 points over their last three games.
