Baseball Game Preview: Foresthill Wildfires vs. Grant Pacers

The Foresthill Wildfires will head out on the road to square off against the Grant Pacers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Foresthill can't be too happy about their upcoming road game considering what happened when they opened their season away from home on Friday. They came up short against Bear River, falling 26-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Wildfires have suffered since March 22, 2025.

David Silveira was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. He has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last ten times he's played.

Meanwhile, Grant was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Foothill.

Grant saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zyaire Brookins, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one double. Oswaldo Flores also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Foresthill couldn't quite finish off Grant in their previous matchup back in March of 2025 and fell 12-10. Can the Wildfires avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
