Baseball Recap: Palmer Comes Up Short

Palmer had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 12-9 to make it four. They lost 10-0 to the Soldotna Stars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Stars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-0 last Saturday.

As for Soldotna, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-9-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games.

For Soldotna's part, Matthew Schilling was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. The Stars are 9-1 when Schilling posts two or more runs, but 6-8-2 otherwise.

As of now, neither Palmer nor Soldotna have any future games scheduled.
