Basketball Recap: Lafayette Skates Past Bell with Ease

Lafayette posted their biggest win since January 18th on Friday. They breezed by the Bell Bulldogs to the tune of 61-29. The Hornets pushed the score to 45-21 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bulldogs had little chance of recovering from.

Lafayette was led to victory by Tywan Williamson and Jamarcus Smith. Williamson posted 17 points along with five assists and five rebounds, while Smith dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Those 13 points gave Smith a new career-high. Jadarius McQuay was another key player, putting up 11 points.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Lafayette was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Lafayette and bumps their season record up to 3-4. As for Bell, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Lafayette will take on Baker County in a holiday battle at at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Bell, they will welcome Riverside Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
