Football Recap: Davie County War Eagles vs. Mooresville Blue Devils
There was early excitement for Davie County after they claimed the first score on Friday, but it was Mooresville who ended up claiming the real prize. The War Eagles took a blow against the Blue Devils, falling 42-9. The loss continues a trend for the War Eagles in their meetings with the Blue Devils: they've now lost four in a row.
Davie County's loss came despite strong showings from Braxton Bowling and Jamarius Pelote. Bowling rushed for 123 yards, while Pelote rushed for 35 yards and one score.
Leading Mooresville to victory were Ja'Darius McCombs and Brody Norman. Davie County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 23-10 loss against Lake Norman on the 24th. As for Mooresville, they have also already played their next contest, a 45-13 win against Statesville on the 24th.
