First Baptist Academy had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They escaped with a win on Thursday against the Neumann Celtics by the margin of a single free throw, 28-27. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 48-34 victory back in December of 2024.

Zara Leilani Stewart was her usual excellent self, putting up 18 points and four steals.

When it comes to explaining why Neumann lost, don't look at Gracyn Crosby. Despite the final result, she posted 12 points and four steals. Crosby is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 19 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mylee Van De wouw, who had seven points.

First Baptist Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which somehow still isn't as good as their 18-5 record this season. As for Neumann, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-12.

First Baptist Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 41-26 loss against Evangelical Christian on the 7th. Neumann does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
