Basketball Recap: Nathan Oros and Tony Aguilar Secure Win for South El Monte

South El Monte won the last time they faced Mountain View and things went their way on Wednesday too. The South El Monte Eagles came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mountain View Vikings, sneaking past 65-63.

Leading South El Monte to victory were Tony Aguilar and Nathan Oros. Aguilar went 9 for 13 en route to 22 points and eight steals, while Oros went 8 of 10 on his way to 20 points and seven rebounds. Those eight steals gave Aguilar a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Lopez, who posted 11 points and six assists.

South El Monte's record is now 7-15. As for Mountain View, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-22.

South El Monte won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Marshall at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. South El Monte is facing Marshall at the right time seeing as Marshall is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Mountain View, they will head out to challenge Gabrielino at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Gabrielino will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something Mountain View surely won't give up without a fight.
