Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Memphis East walked away with it. Their defense stepped up to hand the Middle College Bulldogs  a   5-0 shutout  on Tuesday. Considering Memphis East have won eight games by more than two  goals this season, Tuesday's  blowout was nothing new.
They hit Middle College with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from  Devin Drinkwater (2),  John Nunez,  Noah Parker,  and  Randy Butler.
The  victory was  the fourth in a row for Memphis East, bringing their record up to 12-2-2. Those  wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  scored 16  goals over those four  matches. As for Middle College, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 1-4-3 record  this season.
 Memphis East will square off against Sheffield at 5:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Middle College does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
