Football Recap: Wilson Mules vs. Maywood CES Wolfpack
While Wilson put up plenty of points on Monday, the same can't be said for Maywood CES. The Mules claimed a resounding 37-0 win over the Wolfpack. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Mules' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 117th, while the Wolfpack are ranked 600th).
Anniyah Huteson produced another solid effort rushing for 60 yards and a pair of scores on only five carries, while also throwing for 128 yards and two touchdowns on only ten passes. Nancy Altamirano was in the mix as well, providing Wilson with two TDs.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Wilson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 221 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Wilson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Viririana Flores, Ashley Bautista, Alondra Gordillo, and Huteson picked up one apiece. Flores is also crushing it when it comes to sacks: she's posted at least one every time she's taken the field this season.
