Bayport-Blue Point never let their opponents score on Friday. They came out on top against the Pierson Whalers by a score of 3-0. The win was just business as usual for the Phantoms, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

The result came thanks to Mike Messina's shutout, as he gave up just two hits.

On the hitting side, Tyler McKillop was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and one double. Ryan Kloss was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI.

Bayport-Blue Point's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Pierson, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Coincidentally, Bayport-Blue Point and Pierson will both be playing Southampton the next time they take the field. The Whalers will host the Mariners at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Phantoms will host them at 4:30 p.m. on May 5.
