Baseball Recap: Central Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

While Central's win against Lighthouse Private Christian Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Central Jaguars narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Lighthouse Private Christian Academy Stingrays 8-7. The Jaguars haven't had any issues with the Stingrays recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Brock Schmidt was incredible, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI.

Central's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Lighthouse Private Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
