Football Recap: Moshannon Valley Black Knights/Damsels vs. Everett Warriors

Moshannon Valley lost against Everett back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Black Knights/Damsels fell 26-20 to the Warriors.

Several Black Knights/Damsels players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mason Abernethy, who picked up 112 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Abernethy was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 54 yards. Another passer making a difference was Brady Mihalko, who threw for 249 yards and a pair of TDs.

Jakobe Harman had an outrageously good game for Everett as he rushed for 280 yards and four scores while picking up 8.0 yards per carry. Harman's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 176 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Moshannon Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Everett, their record now sits at 2-0.

Moshannon Valley and Everett will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Black Knights/Damsels are set to take on their familiar foe Southern Huntingdon County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Everett will face off against rival Berlin Brothersvalley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
