Softball Game Preview: Conway Wampus Cats vs. Paragould Rams

The Conway Wampus Cats are taking a road trip to square off against the Paragould Rams at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Conway's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Paragould's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Conway is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Little Rock Southwest with a sharp 19-0 win on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Wampus Cats in their matchups with the Gryphons: they've now won six in a row.

Meanwhile, Paragould hadn't done well against Valley View recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Rams skirted past the Blazers 7-6.

Conway's win bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Paragould, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-11.

Conway took their win against Paragould when the teams last played back in March of 2019 by a conclusive 9-2 score. Will the Wampus Cats repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
