Softball Recap: Covington Takes a Loss

The home team had won the previous six meetings between Covington and Millington Central, and Millington Central kept the tradition alive. The Chargers fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 8-7 on Thursday. The Chargers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Trojans earlier this season, when they won 8-5.

Caroline Cole was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Covington's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Millington Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-10-1.

Looking ahead, Covington will take on Ripley at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Millington Central, they will face off against Arlington at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Trojans surely won't give up without a fight.
