Recap: Northside Eagles vs. Lee County Trojans
The Northside Eagles were the 23-20 winner over the Lee County Trojans when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Northside was outmatched by Lee County at home and fell 56-7. Northside was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-0.
Despite the loss, Northside still got an impressive performance from Da?veon Latimore, who rushed for 93 yards and a touchdown.
Lee County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Weston Bryan, who rushed for 36 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Ousmane Kromah, who gained 135 total yards and a touchdown.
Northside has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Lee County, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northside will face off against Veterans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Veterans is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Lee County, they will head out on the road to face off against Thomas County Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Thomas County Central is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
