Football Recap: Axtell Wildcats vs. Elm Creek Buffaloes

Friday just wasn't the day for Axtell's offense. They were beaten by the Elm Creek Buffaloes 57-0 on Friday. The loss leaves the Wildcats still looking for their first win of the season.

Carter Lorenz threw for 27 yards on one of nine attempts. Reece Hunt was his top target, picking up 27 receiving yards. On the ground, Nic Dahl rushed for 71 yards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Elm Creek to victory, but perhaps none more so than Keston Beavers, who rushed for 65 yards and two touchdowns. Beavers has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Gene Hodges, who rushed for 72 yards and a pair of TDs on only eight carries.

Axtell's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Elm Creek, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-2.
