Volleyball Recap: Carlsbad Comes Up Short

If Carlsbad was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Canyon Crest Academy on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lancers came up short against the Christian Patriots on Thursday, falling 3-0.

Carlsbad was not able to win a set, but it sure wasn't from a lack of trying: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-22, 29-27.

Carlsbad's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Christian, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-0.

Coming up, Carlsbad will venture away from home to square off against Rancho Buena Vista at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lancers are facing the Longhorns at the right time seeing as the Longhorns are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Christian, they are headed away from home for the first time to take on La Jolla Country Day at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
