Del Sol has gone 8-0 against Pahrump Valley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Del Sol Dragons will look to defend their home court against the Pahrump Valley Trojans at 6:30 p.m. Del Sol has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the fourth.
Del Sol is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Legacy on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Del Sol had to suffer through a 96-52 loss at the hands of Legacy. The Dragons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 63-30.
Del Sol's loss came about despite a quality game from Jaeden Alexander, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 13 boards. That was a full 51.9% of Del Sol's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ameer Williams, who put up six points.
Even though they lost, Del Sol smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Pahrump Valley came up short against Bonanza on Friday and fell 62-49.
Del Sol will have to contain Tramaine Burras as he made an impact in Pahrump Valley's last game. He dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds. That's the most boards Burras has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Alejandro Lozano, who scored 13 points.
Del Sol's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Pahrump Valley, they dropped their record down to 5-17 with the loss, which was their eighth straight at home.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Del Sol has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 29.9 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Pahrump Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.7 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Del Sol was able to grind out a solid victory over Pahrump Valley in their previous matchup back in February of 2020, winning 70-61. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Pahrump Valley's Grant Odegard, who almost dropped a double-double on 26 points and nine rebounds.
