Baseball Recap: Akron Comes Up Short

Akron extended their losing streak to five on Monday, dropping them down to 1-5. They lost 12-0 to the Royalton-Hartland Rams. The Tigers were not able to make up for their loss to the Rams from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

As for Royalton-Hartland, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.

For Royalton-Hartland's part, the team relied heavily on Isaac Smith, who fired off six RBI, three doubles, and two runs while going 4-for-4. Those six RBI gave Smith a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of John Brigham, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

While Akron had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
