Soccer Game Preview: Riverside vs. Mountain View

The Riverside Rangers are taking a road trip to take on the Mountain View Lobos at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Riverside has three straight wins, Mountain View has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

On Tuesday, Riverside was able to grind out a solid victory over Clint, taking the game 3-1.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Mountain View's offense. They lost 7-0 to San Elizario on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Mountain View can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 789th, while San Elizario are ranked 369th).

Riverside's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Mountain View, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-15.

Riverside got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in January against Mountain View by a conclusive 5-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rangers since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
