Maxwell put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Redding Christian Lions 44-14 on the road. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Noel Velazquez had a dynamite game for Maxwell, throwing for 246 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes, and also rushing for 45 yards. Tanner Vierra was Velazquez's top target, picking up 73 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Maxwell was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 206 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 162 rushing yards in three consecutive games.

Maxwell wouldn't let Redding Christian keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Maxwell can thank Vierra and Jessie Edwards for forcing both of them.

Despite the loss, Redding Christian still got an impressive performance from Darren Goodman, who picked up 143 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Goodman got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 90 yards. Redding Christian also got a significant boost from Levi Putnam, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 90 yards.

Maxwell's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Redding Christian, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
