Football Recap: Morris Sets Scoring Season-High Against Metamora

With a playoff win on the line, Morris rose to the challenge on Saturday. They strolled past the Metamora Redbirds with points to spare, taking the game 64-50. Morris' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Caeden Curran had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 235 yards and four scores. He is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last nine games he's played. Anthony Smith got in on the action too, returning a kick for a touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Morris was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 297 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 223 rushing yards in three consecutive contests.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 14 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Smith, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Morris' record now sits at 10-1. As for Metamora, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.

As of now, neither Morris nor Metamora have any future games scheduled.
