Marin Catholic entered their tilt with Albany on Thursday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They never let the Cougars get on the board and left with a 4-0 win. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 3-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The result came thanks to Malliah Foster's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Anna Held, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Morgan Carlson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Held wasn't the only one making solid contact: Marin Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive matchups.

Marin Catholic's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Albany, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marin Catholic will square off against San Rafael at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Albany, they will challenge Salesian College Preparatory at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pride have averaged an impressive 8.7 runs per game this season.
