Softball Recap: Lathrop Malemutes vs. Wasilla Warriors
On Saturday, Lathrop faced Wasilla in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Lathrop Malemutes came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wasilla Warriors and snuck past 6-5. The win was nothing new for Lathrop as they're now sitting on five straight.
Destiny Weeks was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, a triple, and a stolen base.
On Wasilla's side, Lindsey Jensen was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Lathrop pushed their record up to 6-7-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Wasilla, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13-2 record this season.
