Greenfield had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it ten on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Wayne Christian Eagles by a score of 8-5. That's two games straight that the Knights have won by exactly three runs.

Christopher Tankersley made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Greenfield let Mack Wiggins and Clark Johnson run wild. Wiggins scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Johnson scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Cianan Braundel, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Greenfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

Greenfield pushed their record up to 12-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Wayne Christian, they moved to 8-6 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Greenfield will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
