League recap: Avalon losing streak continues, now winless in last four

Avalon's 4-game skid is the longest active losing streak in the league. The Eagles lost another game last week, including a 12-6 defeat against Rice.

Waxahachie Faith Family Academy currently sits at the top of 1A Region II District 14 with a mark of 6-4 overall and 2-0 in the league. Rice is in second place, 0.50 game behind with a 3-2 record in league play.

The Bulldogs's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing three hits and zero walks to lead the league in both categories. Rice has given up a mere 87 hits on the year in addition to compiling 75 strikeouts. Ty Cantu is the leader in that category with 36 Ks on the season.
