Basketball Game Preview: South Johnston Trojans vs. East Wake Warriors

The South Johnston Trojans will head out to take on the East Wake Warriors at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. South Johnston will be strutting in after a win while East Wake will be coming in after a loss.

South Johnston will head into Wednesday's contest on the come-up: they were handed a 32-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Southern Wayne, sneaking past 44-41. The victory was some much needed relief for the Trojans as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, East Wake came up short against Fike on Tuesday, falling 58-32. The Warriors have struggled against the Demons recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

South Johnston's win bumped their record up to 3-10. As for East Wake, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.

South Johnston took their victory against East Wake in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 42-22. Will South Johnston repeat their success, or does East Wake have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
