Linn takes loss despite strong efforts from Vivien Baker and Kiana Hostetler

Recap: Linn Wildcats vs. Centralia Panthers

If the Linn Wildcats were feeling good off their 46-16 takedown of the South Callaway Bulldogs on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Linn ended up on the wrong side of a rough 53-27 walloping at the hands of Centralia on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Linn can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 166th, while Centralia is ranked 40th).

Linn's loss came despite strong showings from Kiana Hostetler and Vivien Baker. Hostetler scored 11 points, while Baker scored seven points along with six rebounds.

Linn has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for Centralia, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-3.

Linn will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Blair Oaks at 7:30 p.m. on January 22nd. Blair Oaks comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Centralia will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Brookfield at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th.
