Volleyball Game Preview: Nucla Mustangs vs. Norwood Mavericks + How To Watch

The Nucla Mustangs will head out to take on the Norwood Mavericks at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Nucla and Telluride, and Telluride kept the tradition alive. The Mustangs came up short against the Miners on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Mustangs have struggled against the Miners recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

While Nucla was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-12, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Norwood hadn't done well against Dove Creek recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Mavericks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Bulldogs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Mavericks have posted since August 23rd.

Norwood took Dove Creek into a fifth set where they got it done with a seven-point win. The match finished with set scores of 16-25, 25-11, 24-26, 25-18, 15-8.

Nucla's defeat dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Norwood, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-14.

Everything went Nucla's way against Norwood in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as Nucla made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
