Football Recap: McLoud Redskins vs. Bristow Pirates
McLoud extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 14 on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-8. They had to suffer through a 48-14 loss at the hands of the Bristow Pirates. The Redskins were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-0.
Leroy Thomas and Sabir Perry Jr. certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Thomas rushed for 160 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.4 yards per carry, while Perry Jr. picked up 77 receiving yards and one score. Perry Jr. was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 62 yards.
As for Bristow, they moved to 3-5 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. That 34 point margin sets a new team best for them this season.
Leading Bristow to victory were Promised Johnson and Shane Bethel. Johnson rushed for 89 yards and one TD on only nine carries, while Bethel rushed for 111 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 11 carries. What's more, Johnson racked up 120.6 passer rating, the most he's had since back in November of 2024.
