Basketball Recap: Rural Retreat Comes Up Short

Rural Retreat was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 52-42 to the Marion Scarlet Hurricanes. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-22 back in December of 2024.

Rural Retreat's record now sits at 1-10. As for Marion, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rural Retreat and Rye Cove will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. As for Marion, they and Grayson County will face off at 8:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played.
