Recap: Lafayette Rams vs. York Falcons

The Lafayette Rams entered their tilt with the York Falcons with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Lafayette came out on top in a nail-biter against York on Friday and snuck past 62-59. Given Lafayette's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 65th, while York is ranked 211th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Jarquez Garrett, who scored 29 points along with five rebounds and five steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 13 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Asa Fehrenbach, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.

Lafayette has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for York, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lafayette will square off against Jamestown at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Jamestown is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games. As for York, they will head out on the road to square off against Bruton at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bruton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully York likes a good challenge.
