Baseball Recap: Lake Wales Comes Up Short

Lake Wales lost against Owasso last Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Lake Wales Highlanders came up short against the Owasso Rams, falling 14-8. The Highlanders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Carter Franks and Carter Finnell stepped up to the plate in a big way. Franks went 1-for-3 with one home run, while Finnell went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI. Franks also put up a run, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Levi Cutts, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.

Lake Wales' loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Owasso, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 12-1.

Looking ahead, Lake Wales will square off against Mulberry at 7:30 p.m. on March 25th. As for Owasso, they will challenge Sapulpa at 5:00 p.m. on March 24th.
