The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither Sumner nor Doyle made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Cowboys sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cowboys have posted since March 7th.

Sumner is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Doyle, their defeat ended a 22-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 27-2.

Coming up, Doyle will challenge Newman at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Tigers 1.9, the Greenies 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. Sumner will be paying especially close attention to Doyle's game: after Doyle faces off against Newman, they'll take on Sumner again at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
