South Elgin's 17-8 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Stevenson Patriots on Saturday. South Elgin has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Justin Pold was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

On Stevenson's side, Ben Fawcett looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (he also only allowed one walk). Fawcett has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive pitching appearances.
