Football Game Preview: Northwest Catholic Lions vs. Joel Barlow Falcons

The Northwest Catholic Lions will square off against the Joel Barlow Falcons at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Northwest Catholic will be strutting in after a win while Joel Barlow will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Friday, Northwest Catholic got the win against Farmington by a conclusive 31-6. With the Lions ahead 24-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Vincent Burbank had an outrageously good game as he threw for 225 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 52 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries. Kayden Davis was Burbank's top target, picking up 115 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Northwest Catholic didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Farmington to a completion percentage of just 47.2%. The Lions hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.58 or higher in five consecutive games dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Joel Barlow played a tough contest last Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 28-7 to Notre Dame Prep.

Northwest Catholic will have to contain Kaden Holub as he made an impact in Joel Barlow's last game. He rushed for 80 yards and one touchdown.

Joel Barlow's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Northwest Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
