Soccer Game Preview: Escondido Charter vs. Brawley

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Escondido Charter challenge the Brawley at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday... Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Escondido Charter fell victim to Escondido and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 580th, while the Cougars are ranked 137th).

Meanwhile, Brawley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to Granite Hills.

Escondido Charter's loss dropped their record down to 1-3-2. As for Brawley, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3-2.

Escondido Charter suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to Brawley in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Escondido Charter avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
