Volleyball Recap: Lawrence County Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Lawrence County was the 2-0 winner over Good Hope when they last played one another back in September of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Red Devils fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. While the Red Devils didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Raiders 25-21 in the first set.

The 2-1 doesn't really show just how close this match was: all the sets Lawrence County lost were decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-22, 15-13.

Ava Templeton paced Lawrence County's offense, picking up six kills. Templeton really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with nine. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

The defeat snapped Lawrence County's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 17-13 record. As for Good Hope, they pushed their record up to 16-11 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Lawrence County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Danville on the 16th. As for Good Hope, they will venture away from home to face off against Cordova at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
