Basketball Game Preview: San Marcos Royals vs. Garces Memorial Rams

The San Marcos Royals will take on the Garces Memorial Rams in a holiday battle at at 1:30 a.m. on Monday. San Marcos knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Garces Memorial likes a good challenge.

San Marcos saw some tournament action on Saturday. They snuck past Fresno Christian with a 64-59 victory.

Meanwhile, Garces Memorial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 51-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Poly. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 867th, while the Parrots are ranked 395th).

San Marcos has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points per game. As for Garces Memorial, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11.
