Soccer Game Preview: Lake Nona vs. Windermere

The Lake Nona Lions will challenge the Windermere Wolverines at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Lake Nona is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Celebration on Friday. Lake Nona fell just short of Celebration by a score of 1-0. Considering the last time the Lions couldn't score was back in December of 2024, the team can't take the result too hard.

Meanwhile, Windermere came tearing into Thursday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.8 goals) and they left with even more momentum. Their defense stepped up to hand the Cougars a 6-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Wolverines, who have now won five contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Windermere's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those four matches. As for Lake Nona, they now have a losing record at 6-7-2.

Everything went Lake Nona's way against Windermere in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as Lake Nona made off with a 4-1 win. Does Lake Nona have another victory up their sleeve, or will Windermere turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
