Basketball Recap: Roanoke Rapids Comes Up Short

Roanoke Rapids played a tough game on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Franklinton Red Rams, falling 49-29. The Yellowjackets haven't had much luck with the Red Rams recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Meredith Wilkins was a one-woman wrecking crew for Franklinton as she posted 19 points and five steals. Those five steals gave Wilkins a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Rihanna Hunt, who earned eight points along with four blocks and three steals.

Roanoke Rapids' defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Franklinton, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season.

As of now, neither Roanoke Rapids nor Franklinton have any future games scheduled.
