Baseball Recap: East Wilkes Has No Trouble Against Alleghany

East Wilkes had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 13-run drubbing they dealt Alleghany on Monday. The Cardinals blew past the Trojans 13-0. That looming 13-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Cardinals yet this season.

Praden Hatley made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, East Wilkes got a massive performance out of Seth Lambert, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Ayden Guessford, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.

East Wilkes always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

East Wilkes is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games.
