Baseball Game Preview: Haleyville Lions vs. West End Patriots

The Haleyville Lions will take on the West End Patriots at 9:00 a.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

West End will be up against a hot Haleyville team: the squad just extended their winning streak to eight. Haleyville blew past Jasper 9-2 on Friday.

The team relied heavily on Evan Cagle, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper McNutt, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, West End made easy work of Cleveland on Thursday and carried off an 18-7 victory. That looming 18-7 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Patriots yet this season.

Haleyville pushed their record up to 11-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for West End, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
