Football Game Preview: Loyola Cubs vs. Redondo Union Sea Hawks + How To Watch

The Loyola Cubs will take on the Redondo Union Sea Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Loyola will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.

Loyola is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top against Bonita by a score of 21-14. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but the Cubs were the (much) better team in the second half.

Loyola didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Gage Santos and Gavin Miller.

Meanwhile, Redondo Union had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 14-13 W against the Swordsmen. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Sea Hawks have posted since November 8, 2024.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed eight in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Bo Ausmus, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

The win got Loyola back to even at 6-6. As for Redondo Union, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.
