Soccer Recap: South Takes a Loss

South was the 1-0 winner over Mira Monte when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The South Spartans fell just short of the Mira Monte Lions by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday. That's two games in a row now that the Spartans have lost by just one goal.

This is the second loss in a row for South and nudges their season record down to 8-7-1. As for Mira Monte, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which lines up perfectly with their 10-3-1 record this season.

South and Mira Monte should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. South will challenge North at 6:00 p.m. on Friday up 658 places (498 vs. 1156). Meanwhile, Mira Monte (ranked 176th) will meet Del Oro (ranked 817th) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
